FOUNDERS KBS

Not what I would call a summer brew but KBS from Founders is on sale for $20/btl. If you haven't had the pleasure, it isn't worth $20 but I would pay it anyways just to try it. One of my top 5 favorite beers of all time. It is a very limited brew so get in quickly to pick up a 4 pack. Yes it will cost you nearly $100.

I am editing this post to reflect the awesomeness of this beer. While extremely limited in quantity, the quality makes it worth the wait and price. This is one Stout I could drink all day long (if my pockets were deep with cash). The flavor is as good as it gets and I have yet to sample anything that comes close, I originally posted that it wasn't worth it given the number of quality beers out there. However, since I have been in search of something similar and have yet to find it, I will modify my statement and say it is worth it on special occasions. Since I didn't originally attach ratings, here they are:

Taste: 5
Drinkability: 5
Affordability: 1
Availability: 1

Overall: 5****

****It is still my favorite beer of all time.****

Mexican Logger

So after a brief hiatus I recently tried Mexican Logger from Ska Brewing Company. This beer reminded me of the first time I ever took a sip of beer. I seriously had flashbacks to 909 Dewey. Since it was about 112 when I decided to crack this brew, it tasted far better than I am sure it actually is, but none the less it was a light refreshing beer that tasted like, well beer. At $1.49 a can it is on the low end of microbrews, but anything more than that and I would have felt ripped off. I actually felt a bit ripped of at $1.49. You could definitely drink a case of this beer pool side if you were in it for the long haul. I wouldn't classify this as a summer beer even though it was in the seasonal section at Total Wine. I have no idea if you can get it anywhere else as I had never even heard of it until I stumbled upon it in the beer store.
